THE
FINAL ANALYSIS
By:
Robert F Oman
at Whirlpool-USADCPBJ
People are often unreasonable,
Illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind,
People may accuse you of selfish ulterior
motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,
You will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building,
You may find it could be destroyed overnight;
Keep building anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
They may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
People will often forget tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
It is between you and God.
It never was between you and them anyway. |
BUTT
PRINTS IN THE SAND
-unknown
One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some stranger prints appeared,
And I asked the Lord, "What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat,
"But Lord, they are too big for feet."
"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."
"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up,
And there I dropped you on your butt."
"Because in life, there comes a time,
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand."
SMILES!
-unknown
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him .
I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

THE
PARADOX OF OUR TIME
-George
Carlin
The paradox
of our time in history is that we have taller buildings,
but
shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.
We spend
more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.
We have
bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences,
but
less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge,
but
less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine,
but
less wellness.
We drink
too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too
little,
drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late,
get
up too tired, read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.
We have
multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too
much,
love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a
living,
but not a life; we've added years to life, not life to years.
We've
been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing
the
street to meet the new neighbor. We've conquered outer space,
but
not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've
cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've split the
atom,
but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan
more,
but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait.
We build
more computers to hold more information to produce more copies
Than
ever, but have less communication.
These
are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men, and
short
character; steep profits, and shallow relationships. These
are
the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure,
but
less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.
These
are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses,
But
broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers,
throw-away
morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do
everything
from cheer to quiet, to kill.
It is
a time when there is much in the show window and nothing in
the
stockroom; a time when technology can bring this letter to you,
and
a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to
just
hit delete. |
THE
SCULPTOR'S ATTITUDE
Author
Unknown
I woke up
early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock
strikes
midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important.
My job
is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today
I can complain because the weather is rainy or... I can be
thankful
that the grass is getting watered for free.
Today
I can feel sad that I don't have more money or...
I can
be glad that my finances encourage me to plan
my purchases
wisely and guide me away from waste.
Today
I can grumble about my health or ... I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today
I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me
when
I was growing up or... I can feel grateful that they allowed me
to be
born.
Today
I can cry because roses have thorns or ... I can celebrate that thorns
have
roses.
Today
I can mourn my lack of friends or ... I can excitedly embark
upon
a quest to discover new relationships.
Today
I can whine because I have to go to work or ... I can shout
for
joy because I have a job to do.
Today
I can complain because I have to go to school or ... I can
eagerly
open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.
Today
I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or...
I can
feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body
andsoul.
Today
stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am,
the
sculptor who gets to do the shaping.
What
today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day
I will
have!
Have
a GREAT DAY ... unless you have other plans. |

I
MAY NEVER SEE TOMORROW
Author
Unknown
I may never
see tomorrow, there's no guarantee,
And
things that happened yesterday belong to history.
I can't
predict the future, I can't change the past.
I have
just the present memories to treat as my last.
I must
use this moment wisely, for soon it will pass away,
And
be lost forever as a part of yesterday.
I must
exercise compassion, help the fallen to
their
feet,
Be a
friend unto the friendless, make their life complete.
The
unkind things I do today, may never be undone,
And
friendships that I fail to win, may never more be won.
I may
not have another chance on bended knees to pray,
And
I thank God with a humble heart for giving me this day!
DOES
IT HAVE TO BE?
by Jacpot
Does it
have to be this way, everytime?
Does
it have to fall apart, this way?
To expect
something, that should not
be expected.
Expectations
so high.
Again
they fall, from the top of the clouds.
And
again the heart grows old.
The
life once known,
must
begin one more time.
The
achievements so soon forgotten,
when
people die.
To live
for here, now,
is the
greatest gift you may recieve.
To live
for here,now,
You
won't have to grieve.
But
people often forget that they have that gift.
People
often think themselves psychic.
Perhaps
they all are.
Perhaps...
But
to know the here, now,
Is a
gift, you may not know it now,
but
in time, when you grow old
you'll
think past on things you didn't do.
On things
you wanted to do, but were afraid of the
consequences.
It'll
all come back in a rush of thought, so save your regrets
for
later, and come back to the here, and the now. |
